Q: What is the Authenticator, and why should I use it?
A: The Authenticator is an additional layer of security that can be placed onto your Nexon America account. When enabled, the login process for your Nexon America account will also require that you enter a code generated by the Authenticator.
Q: I misplaced my phone, what can I do?
A: If auto-login is available through the Nexon Launcher, then you can disable the Authenticator from the Account Settings page from within the Nexon Launcher.
Locate the section for Two Factor Authentication and click the "Disable" button. After confirmation, your Nexon America account will no longer be connected with the Authenticator. It is also advised that the password on your account be changed as a security measure if your phone cannot be located.
Q: The authentication code is not working, what should I do?
A: Please ensure that the correct Authenticator Code has been entered. The Authenticator Code is six digits long with no spaces. Each code expires after 30 seconds. Once it has expired, it cannot be used. A new code is generated after the previous code has expired.
Q: I cannot register the Authenticator.
A: Using your device, scan the QR Code using the camera to link the Authenticator to your Nexon America Account.
If the QR Code cannot be scanned, then click on the displayed link and you will be presented with a 16-digit entry code. Use this entry code on your device to manually link the Authenticator to your Nexon America account.
Q: How do I disable the Authenticator?
A: The Authenticator can be disabled from within the Account Settings page on the Nexon America website. Locate the section for Two Factor Authentication and click the "Disable" button. After confirmation, your Nexon America account will no longer be connected with the Authenticator.
Q: Where do I generate Backup Codes?
A: Backup Codes can be generated from the Account Settings page on the Nexon America website. Locate the section for Two Factor Authentication and click on the link to "Get Backup codes". You will be prompted to re-enter your password.
Once done, a set of 10 Backup Codes will be created. You will have the option to save them locally on your computer. The Backup Codes can be used in-place of the Authenticator Code, but each can only be used once. Each Backup Code is eight digits long with no spaces.
Q: Where can I use the back-up codes?
A: The Backup Codes can be used in the same way as the Authenticator Codes. Upon login, you can enter one of your Backup Codes to login if you have misplaced your Authenticator device. However, once a Backup Code is used once, it cannot be used again.
